Totara Springs Christian Centre had a complete brand revamp, tidying up an existing logo and bringing in a new brand style with custom illustration.
The illustrations created a style that is seen all across camp - from the signs as you enter the grounds, building signage, stationery, and the revised website.
A place of welcoming and belonging
A softer, organic and layered approach to the illustrations was key in visually bridging the gap between home and camp. A place where kids can connect and feel welcomed- but also a variety of other people, from families to church groups and events.
Leaning in to geographical elements, the illustrations brought in the ranges, hills and land that envelopes the camp.
Redesigning a user friendly website that works on mobile devices
The old website was dark - heavily used black backgrounds with old information and imagery that gave the site an outdated feel. Content was hard to find in some areas. And most importantly - to bring the light and be a light. The website needed a really good overhaul for ease of use across all devices and screens.
I freshened up the entire user experience, and made it fun for parents and kids to get excited about a camp session - but also other groups too.
A revamped navigation and page layouts provide in-depth information and easier to access info about upcoming camps, jobs and volunteer positions, as well as projects and events they run.
Exterior sign updgrade
Tired, mouldy and a little bit small... the old signs around camp had an overhaul.
The long driveway entrance sign (3 metres!) needed to make campers feel welcomed before they drove in - the Kia Ora! helps make a friendly statement.
Directional admin signage helps guide visitors and campers to the right place, located in front of key carparks.
Around camp area a few extra large maps of camp - with all the activities marked, with custom illustrations and room to add more as camp grows in the future.
"I love it!
I love the new look, the illustrations and designs really breathe a new life into camp and is so welcoming. "
